Inspired by Paul Gaugin's 'Portrait of a Young Woman' 1896
Gaugin frames a complacent young women looking for her next step. I had identified with this young women, she is caught in a confusing hectic abstract setting that she cannot control. So she sits, she waits until she connects with something larger. She radically accepts what she can't control and grows past her insecurities.
She is my symbol of self-awareness, a reminder that the joy is in the work.
